Artemide at Feria València Hábitat 2022

Milan, 15 September 2022 - This September, Artemide makes its debut at Feria Hábitat, the international showcase for the Spanish industry in Valencia - appointed as International Design City for 2022 -  presenting a selection of historical pieces, together with the latest lighting collections, the result of the company’s constant research and technological innovation.

The Italian company will showcase few of the most iconic lights from its collection, such as the Eclisse designed by Vico Magistretti, the Tizio table lamp that turns 50 this year, the iconic Tolomeo Maxi designed by Michele de Lucchi and the Ilio lamp created by the company’s founder Ernesto Gismondi

At Feria Hábitat, Artemide will also present the latest projects including works by world-renowned architect and design studio BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group with Alphabet of Light and Stellar Nebula.

Alphabet of light is a language based on light intended to convey freedom, an elementary principle generating an open system. BIG starts from an abacus of essential geometries to design a new font that translates into light, an alphabet used to write and to express one’s thoughts, a tool to give shape to spaces.

It allows to design light in space with words, as well as with graphic signs. Two linear elements of different lengths and two round ones are combined with a system of letters, numbers, and symbols.

The idea of BIG joins the optoelectronic competence of Artemide to define an innovative construction principle and provide continuous and comfortable lighting. While it has a minimal presence, it encloses groundbreaking patented optoelectronic and mechanical innovation.

Stellar Nebula is a family of lamps designed by BIG to interpret and enhance artisanal glass blowing with innovative PVD finishing techniques. Values, roles and limits of industrial and artisanal production are the core of this project idea, which aims to find a solution of industrial uniqueness.

The shapes of the hand blown diffusers are always unique. The suspension has three different sizes while the floor, table, ceiling and clusters are only in the medium one.

Artisanal know-how and industrial innovation thus come together in the beauty of the material that enhances the magic interaction between glass and light.

The new collections combine innovation and traditional know-how; they are flexible and adaptable as they evenly light private and public spaces, personal or shared, indoors and outdoors.
